If you’ve been looking for a reason to avoid ever downloading and using Internet Explorer 8, it’s here. Mozilla officially released Firefox 3.5 today. The new browser received a number of key upgrades including support for HTML5 video, audio content embedded directly on the page, private browsing for all you porn fiends and location-aware browsing for a more local browsing experience. JavaScript performance is said to be twice as fast as Firefox 3 and three times faster than Firefox 2. Originally slated to be a 3.1 release, Mozilla decided that the new Firefox is so packed full of enhancements it demanded the full 3.5 designation. Available for free download in 70 different languages for Mac ( OS X 10.4 or later), Windows and Linux. [via Macworld]
