While the Scoot Coupe is a far cry from the ” ’sleak’, elegant, smart and just plain fantastic” depiction that its website lays claim to, it is certainly a unique and responsible ride. Built in the US by Panther Motors, the Scoot Coupe is a two-seat, three-wheeled scooter that looks a bit like the Power Wheels you drove around as a five-year-old. The scooter comes in 50 cc and 150 cc varieties and claims up to 80 MPG. It’s not clear if the slogan “Go Play in Traffic” is something you do while driving the Scoot Coupe or after reeling from the relentless embarrasment of being seen in one, but I’d prefer something more along the lines of “Take One on the Chin for the Environment”. If you’re looking to turn a few heads while cutting your impact, retail price is $6300 for the P50 and $6500 for the P150. The latest generation of Coupe includes upgrades like dual wishbone front suspension, ABS disc brakes and optional music players. Nice.
